LIVE: Clark County discusses sheltering and rehabilitation capacity expansion in fight against COVID-19

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Clark County and other officials will update the community about increasing the capacity for sheltering and rehabilitation in the face of a growing number of coronavirus cases across Southern Nevada as well as provide an update on the overall fight against the disease.

A news conference will take place at 11 a.m. on April 1 in the amphitheater of the Clark County Government Center in downtown Las Vegas at 500 S. Grand Central Parkway.

Taking part in the news conference are Clark County Commission Chairman Marilyn Kirkpatrick, Southern Nevada Health District Chief Medical Officer Dr. Fermin Leguen, Clark County Fire Chief John Steinbeck (whose department oversees the Office of Emergency Management and the operation of the local Multi-agency Coordination Center), University Medical Center (UMC) CEO Mason VanHouweling, and a representative of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department
