Two unrelated shootings leave two dead

Metro Police are investigating two unrelated shootings Thursday night that left two people dead.

Police tell 8 News NOW both shootings happened at approximately 8 p.m.

The first shooting occurred in a residential neighborhood on North Circle, near Paradise Road and Twain Avenue. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the area. When officers arrived, they discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

The second shooting occurred near the West Las Vegas Library near Lake Mead Boulevard and H Street.

Metro says officers responded to a report of a shot fired in the area. When police arrived, they found a Black male in his late teens or early 20's with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to University Medical Center and died a short time later.

Police do not have any suspects in custody for either crime. Investigators say the shootings are not related.
