People in Las Vegas will get a chance to enjoy the beauty of art and the beauty of nature in one spot for the next month.

The Clark County Wetlands Park will be hosting the Nevada Water Color Society's 2014 Signature Member Show starting this Wednesday through Sunday, Feb. 16. at the Nature Center Exhibit Hall.

The artwork is based on the theme: water brings life. All the artwork is inspired by the beauty of the Clark County Wetlands Park and the surrounding desert areas.

To open the show, there will be a public reception Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. During the reception, the artists will be awarded prizes for best of show, most creative, first, second and third place.

The water color society is made up of 100 professional, local artists, who use water colors as their main medium. The group's signature show features 30 to 40 paintings submitted by members, reflecting a specific theme.

The wetlands park is one mile east of Boulder Highway off Tropicana Avenue. The Las Vegas Wash runs through the park, making it a perfect home for birds and other desert wildlife. It is also full of unique plants.
