Adelson Hospice Collects Back-to-School Items for Kids in Need

The largest nonprofit hospice in southern Nevada is the drop-off point for a back-to-school drive for two elementary schools.

Nathan Adelson Hospice will be collecting all kinds of back-to-school items from now until August 22. The hospice will donate the items to students at Taylor Elementary, 144 Westminster Way, Henderson, and Sunrise Acres Elementary, 211 North 28th Street.

They are looking for backpacks, paper, crayons, markers, glue sticks and anything else that a child would need for a typical school year. The items can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., at the following locations:

  • 4141 Swenson Street off East Flamingo Road
  • 3150 North Tenaya Way at the corner of Cheyenne Avenue

Nathan Adelson Hospice adopted Robert L. Taylor Elementary School in 2009 after a prominent educator, Cliff Kehoe, became a patient at the facility. Before Kehoe died in 2009, the president and CEO of the hospice promised him that his work would continue after is passing.
