Man arrested for attempted murder after domestic dispute

A domestic dispute lead to a shooting Friday that left one man hurt, Metro Police said.

According to police, officers were called to a home near Flamingo Road and Eastern Avenue at around 5:30 a.m.  They found a man standing outside the house with a gunshot wound to his head. Despite the wound, the man was not seriously hurt.

Police say the victim, identified as David Eckman, got into a fight with the suspect, Steven Kesler, because his wife was dating Kesler.

Kesler and Eckman’s wife, Karen Eckman, were inside the house early Friday morning, when they say David Eckman made harassing phone calls and pounded on the doors, telling them to come out.

Police say that eventually Kesler got his gun, went outside and confronted Eckman. During the argument, the fight became physical with Kesler hitting Eckman, police said.

At one point, Kesler shot Eckman in the head and bullet grazed the left side of his scalp.

Metro Police are looking for a man in connection with a series of robberies in the area of Maryland Parkway and Flamingo Road.

According to police, the robberies all happened between April and May. The man targeted people in parking lot. Police say he uses a gun to get money from people.

The man is described as a Hispanic man in his mid 20s. He is 5 foot 9, and he speaks both English and Spanish.

Metro Police are looking for a man who robbed a business near Maryland Parkway and Flamingo Road.

According to police, on April 29, the man walked into the business and demanded money. The employees gave him money, and he left.

The man is described as a black man between 38 and 45 years old. He is 6 foot 10 and 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. During the robbery, he was wearing a gray fisherman's hat with a white band, gray jacket with a dark hood, dark pants and black shoes with white soles.

Police looking for man involved in violent carjacking

Metro Police are looking for a man who hit a woman and stole her car.

According to police, the crime happened March 19 near Boulder Highway and Flamingo Road. Police say the man approached the woman in a parking lot, knocked her down and stole the keys to her 2003 green Hyundai Accent.

The man police are looking for is described as a black man between 25 and 30 years old, 6 foot and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black T-shirt and blue jeans.

Las Vegas man charged with attempted murder of police officer

A Las Vegas man is facing charges of attempted murder of a police officer after a fight with an Metro Police officer Friday.

According to police, an officer was sent to a Jack in the Box restaurant at Boulder Highway and Russell Road just before 6 a.m. because of a man yelling at the employees.

When the officer arrived, he found the suspect identified by police as Curtis Traupman, 43 of Las Vegas, refusing to leave the restaurant. The officer asked him to leave and he did with the officer following him out.

However, when they got outside, the officer said Traupman became aggressive with him. The officer decided to put the suspect in handcuffs, but instead, Traupman began to fight with the officer. At one point, he was able to knock the officer to the ground and sat on him. Traupman is 6 foot 4 and 240 pounds, while the officer is 5 foot 7 and 160 pounds.

Police Looking for 2 Men Who Robbed Store

Metro Police are looking for two men who robbed a store near Tropicana Avenue and McLeod Drive.

According to police, the men walked into the business just before 11 a.m. March 6. One of the suspects walked behind the counter, pulled out a gun and pointed it at the employee. At the same time, the second man took money from the register.

The men also took merchandise from the business and then fled.

The first suspect is described as a black or mixed race man in his 20s. He is about 5 foot 10 with a thin build. He was wearing a black hoodie with camouflage pants. He was armed with a handgun.

The second suspect is a light-skinned black man in his 20s. He is about 5 foot 10 with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a gray Basic High School hoodie and black pants.

Police Looking for Woman Who Robbed Store, Hit Security Guard

Metro Police are searching for a woman who robbed a business and hit a security officer who tried to stop her.

According to police, the woman was in a store near Maryland Parkway and Tropicana Avenue at around 1:30 p.m., January 21. She put some items in a bag and tried to walk out of the store without paying.

At that point, a security guard approached her. The woman then hit the guard in the face and fled.

The woman is described as a black woman about 45 years old and 5 foot 5. She was wearing a tie-die T-shirt, black pants and a multi-color hair wrap.
