Nature Center Opens at Wetlands Park

A new place to learn about the natural treasures in Clark County is now open.

The new Wetlands Park Nature Center, which is near Tropicana Avenue and Wetlands Park lane, opened its doors this past weekend

The center features exhibits about the wetlands and the Las Vegas Wash and their importance to southern Nevada. It also has 15,000-square-feet outdoor observation deck.

The Southern Nevada Water Authority operates a science lab inside the exhibit gallery for biology students and researchers.

The center also has information about the miles of walking trails in the Las Vegas Wetlands Park.

Admission is free and the center is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

The new center is looking for volunteers. Those interested must be 18 years old and be willing to interact with visitors. Volunteers will also have to help with upkeep of the center. To volunteer, call (702) 455-7522 or contact Allison Brody at allison.brody@clarkcountynv.gov.
