LAS VEGAS -- CLEAR, a technology provider that uses biometric identity verification to help speed up airport security, announced Wednesday it would arrive at McCarran International Airport this summer.

Dedicated members-only security lanes and enrollment kiosks in three of McCarran’s checkpoints should be ready to go by mid-August, the company said.

Members use their biometrics, fingerprint and iris, to verify their identity, allowing passengers expedited security screening at major US airports across the country. The program closely works with TSA's Pre-Check, CLEAR said.

"We are thrilled to be bringing CLEAR to Las Vegas. McCarran is the tenth airport offering our services,” said CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman Becker.

Membership is $179 a year for unlimited use. Spouse or partners can be added for $50, while children 18 and under are free.

CLEAR currently operates in San Francisco, San Jose, Denver, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston Bush, Houston Hobby, San Antonio, Orlando, and Westchester County Airport in New York.
