LAS VEGAS -- The Clark County District Attorney says the actions of police in the death of man last December were reasonable and legally justified.

The DA made the decision in the shooting death of Patrick Heki on Dec. 7, 2013. According to the report, Metro Police officers were called to an apartment near Flamingo Road and Boulder Highway on a report of a suicidal man.

When police arrived, they found Heki armed with a handgun and two rifles. Police say they told Heki to drop the weapons, but he refused. Instead, they say he pointed a handgun at one of the officers. The officers shot and killed Heki.

According to Heki's family, he had tried to commit suicide two years before the deadly confrontation and suffered from depression since then.

On the day of the officer-involved shooting, Heki told his parents that he planned to hurt officers and others that night.
