Car hits, critically hurts woman

LAS VEGAS -- A 54-year-old woman was taken to University Medical Center Monday in critical condition after being hit by a car while crossing the street.

According to Metro Police, the crash happened at around 5:15 p.m. near Tropicana Avenue and Morris Street, which is just east of Nellis Boulevard. Eastbound Tropicana Avenue was closed for the investigation.

The driver of the car told police he didn't see the woman, who was in a crosswalk.
