Paradise spa forced to close due to license violations
News

LAS VEGAS -- A Paradise spa will close due to violations within its business licenses.  The Paradise Salon located at 2120 Paradise Road is being forced to close because it is said to have had 43 business license violations within two years, according to the Las Vegas City Council.

In a City Council meeting on Wednesday, it was revealed that more than 70 of those violations were against the Las Vegas massage code. There were arrests for prostitution and other solicitations for sex at the Paradise Spa, officials said.

There was originally a deal in place negotiated by the deputy attorney for the city of Las Vegas with the spa owner to close the spa on February 13, 2015; this would have given the owner, whose name is Lucy Liu, 10 days to close.

However, City Council members rejected that deal, and the spa was ordered to close within 24 hours.

Liu will have to pay $31,098 in fines.

This is a developing story.
