PD: 3 dead in domestic dispute turned murder-suicide

LAS VEGAS -- Police investigated a shooting incident that left three people dead at an apartment complex near Maryland Parkway and Desert Inn Road Sunday afternoon.

Metro homicide investigators said it began as domestic violence that spilled out of an apartment complex and into the street in the 1000 block of Lisbon Avenue.

It ended as an apparent murder-suicide between a man and his girlfriend and another woman, police said.

Officers say the man killed the women and then turned the gun on himself.

Witnesses said they heard about ten gunshots at around 2:30 p.m.

"I was just upstairs with my son and I was watching Netflix and next thing I hear a whole bunch of gunshots, about ten of them," said neighbor Maria Flores.

Neighbor Shannon Leflore said she rushed downstairs when she heard shots ring out, hoping she could help, but quickly realized there was nothing she could do. She says she saw two women and a man laying on the ground already dead.

"No breathing, no pulse, no nothing," said Leflore. "Even the man that shot himself."

Authorities had to shut down Lisbon Avenue and Cambridge Street while they investigated. Detectives say the shooter was in a relationship with one of the women and that the two women were related.

The reason the man shot the two women remains unknown.

"We are talking to people who were present here at the scene, witnesses, as well as we will be talking to those closest to everyone that was involved," said Lt. Ray Steiber of Metro Police.

The identities of the three people have not been released.

This is the 29th and 30th homicides in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
