Celebration Marks Improvements at Horseman's Park

Improvements are finished at Horseman's Park and the occasion was marked with a celebration Thursday.

Clark County Commissioner Mary Beth Scow and students from three local elementary schoold were at the park at 5800 East Flamingo Road.

Thanks to money from the sale of public lands, the park now has a new sign, landscaping, new perimeter fencing, and parking lot designed accommodate large trailers. There is also a new lighted riding trail and new footing for the arena.

Thursday's event did not just mark the improvements to the park, it also kicked off the Las Vegas Children's Horse Expo.

The expo gives children around the southern Nevada the chance to see equestrian entertainers, visit a petting zoo and tour several stations dedicated to education.
