Food Network celebrity chef Guy Fieri came “rollin’ out” to UNLV on Thursday to film his alma mater for an upcoming episode of his popular “Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives” TV show.

For of you who don’t speak Portuguese (and let’s face it who does?), Fogo de Chão literally translates into “fire of the ground.” More colloquially, it stands for “campfire” or the vertical fire pits that Brazilian gauchos have used to roast meats for hundreds of years.

One of the more recognizable names in the Brazilian steakhouse market comes to Las Vegas.

Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão is filling the gap left by the recent closure of Ruth's Chris Steak House, opening Thursday in Hughes Center's "restaurant row," alongside McCormick and Schmick's, Bahama Breeze and Cozymel's.
