UNLV Students Finalists in Business Plan Competition

Four groups of UNLV students were named as finalists Wednesday in a competition for the best business plan.

The teams are part of the 12 teams chosen to compete in the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup Collegiate Business Plan Competition. The teams were selected out of 68 submissions from six of Nevada’s public and private colleges and universities.

The finalists presented a variety of business plans, including a web series, a water-saving device, a landscaping tool and an educational smart-phone app.

The winners will be announced on April 18 in Reno. The first, second and third place winners in both graduate and undergraduate categories will receive $25,000, $15,000 and $10,000 prizes, respectively. First and second place winners will also compete in a tri-state competition in May.
