Strong Week Bumps Rebels Up in Polls

Decisive victories over a pair of conference foes helped the Runnin’ Rebels move up in the national rankings Monday.

UNLV (18-3) jumped two spots back to No. 12 in the Associated Press poll, reclaiming the position it had a week ago before a last-second road loss to San Diego State (17-2.) The Aztecs check in right behind the Rebels at No. 13, a three-spot bump from last week.

The Runnin’ Rebels received a bigger bounce in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll, up five places to No. 15. A huge drop followed the San Diego State loss and the coaches love the Aztecs: they’re at No. 12, moving up four spots.

A 101-78 win over TCU and a 80-63 triumph against New Mexico last week set UNLV back on track in Mountain West Conference action.

Kentucky and Missouri hold the top two spots in both polls.
