Runnin' Rebels Reach Highest Ranking in 19 Years

The Runnin’ Rebels again climbed in the national polls after sweating out a pair of overtime wins on the road last week.

UNLV (20-3) jumped a spot in the Associated Press rankings to No. 11 and leaped two spots to No. 13 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll. The AP ranking is the highest the Rebels have sat in the polls in 19 years. The Rebels survived overtime games at Boise State and Air Force last week.

San Diego State fell to No. 17 in both polls after losing on the road to Colorado State on Saturday.

The Rebels take on Colorado State on Wednesday night at the Thomas & Mack Center, closing out the first half of Mountain West play. UNLV makes the long trek to Laramie, Wyo., to take on the Cowboys on Saturday.

Kentucky, Syracuse, Ohio State, Missouri and North Carolina claimed the top five spots in the AP poll.
