Runnin' Rebels Focus on International Experience in Canada

The UNLV men's basketball team is continuing its exhibition tour through eastern Canada. They took on Laval University in Montreal Monday night.

College basketball teams are allowed to go on international exhibition tours during the summer once every four years.

By looking at the Runnin’ Rebels first two games in Ottawa, it appears coach Dave Rice's primary objective has been to get the new guys some valuable experience. A pair of newcomers, transfer Bryce Dejean-Jones and freshman Katin Reinhardt, have played the most minutes of anybody.

Off the court, the trip has been a chance for the team to bond and build chemistry. The team also gets a chance to experience a different country.

“It is kind of similar to the things in the U.S., their language and how they go about things. But there are just a lot of different things here,” junior guard Anthony Marshall said.
